Earlier you saw the peace effort that’s being tried out between
gangs – and tomorrow an event called Roots Rock Reggae at the MCC Tennis
Court will also try to increase the peace. Co Organizer DJ Lind Inc told us
it’s about peace.
DJ Lindy D,
“Well January second, Saturday right here we will be having the first
annual Roots Rock Reggae DJ Concert. It is a peace concert to start off the
new year in a nice, cool, calm, and peacefulest manner. You have the cultural
reggae, you have the lover’s rock for the couples. It is just for love
and unity, we are trying to bring the people together. We know what’s
happening with the crime and thing and we are just trying to start off 2010
in unity, mek everybody come together and enjoy under the reggae umbrella.
We have Belize’s best elite selectors: Madrocker Mose, Kwame Scott,
Ras Buck, me Lindy D, International DJ Busch, Lifeline, DJ Chris, Brown Sugar,
Tony G, a lot of reggae deejays, celebrity deejays and so they will be giving
you the musical irie to keep everybody calm and together.
Music starts from the drum beat. Reggae music drum beat starts from a tap
tap like the heartbeat tap tap. The more up tempo you go, the more hype, the
more speed, it is like you are on a highway. So the reggae is like a calm, it
puts you on a natural high. So reggae music is one of the key to bring people
together.”
It runs from four to twelve on Saturday and entrance is only five dollars.
Dara will also be there wit his big screen.
