There was a large drug bust in Belize City last night. Police say that at around
10:30 they searched an apartment at 134 Newtown Barracks and inside a kit bag
they found 6,253 grams of marijuana. That’s 6.25 kilos or approximately
14 pounds of marijuana. In addition police say they found a glass pipe and a
clay pipe.
Inside the apartment at the time was 21 year old Mathew Stock who lives there.
He was there along with 21 year old Nancy Gomez, 19 year old Adrian Balderamos,
and 19 year old Frederick Gomez. All four were charged with drug trafficking
and 2 counts each of possession of pipe used for smoking controlled drug.
They were arraigned before Magistrate Sharon Frazer this afternoon and they
all pled not guilty to the charges. They were granted and received bail of $8,000
each. Their case was adjourned until March 3rd. Mathew Stock, Nancy Gomez, and
Adrian Balderamos were represented by attorney Michael Peyrefitte while Dickie
Bradley appeared for Fredrick Gomez.
