PM Barrow Concedes Nothing Can Be Done
posted (January 6, 2010)

And while the new Commander of BATSUB is disavowing responsibility for the grenades and the two deaths they have caused – the Prime Minister agrees that indeed, there’s nothing really that can be done to compel the British Forces to accept even indirect responsibility. Here’s what he told us about it today.

Jules Vasquez,
“That they are morally responsible for this and have to input materially to assist us. Send Scotland Yard, whomever.”

Hon. Dean Barrow, Prime Minister
“We can do that but you know the old complaint about Perfilius Albion and in terms of British statecraft, I don’t know that moral suasion will ever work. But anything is worth a try, except that it is now our primary responsibility to try to get these grenades off the street so to the extent that we can appeal to the British fine, let’s us do so but sleep with your own yes.”
