Belize Telemedia is also doing its part. The company says it will launch a
massive appeal throughout its fifteen countrywide locations where it will match
every dollar donated by its six hundred plus staff. Secondly, Telemedia is partnering
with the Belize Red Cross, Travellers and Wave Radio to conduct a telethon also
aimed at raising funds for the victims in Haiti. The telethon will be held tomorrow,
Saturday January sixteenth at Travellers on the Northern Highway. All funds
raised from both efforts will be handed over to the Belize Red Cross.
A telethon and fund raiser was also held in San Pedro today and the total raised
in donations and pledges was $50,203.
