Also performing tomorrow night will be MIK from Instruments of Love.
He stopped by our studios today to tell us about his new CD from which a portion
of the proceeds will be donated to the Red Cross.
MIK, Instruments of Love
“The earthquake could have been us so I came in and donated a portion
of my album personally to the Red Cross Foundation. It comes on February the
2nd, it is called Blood Hustle and Tears and I will donate a portion towards
the Red Cross so we can give Haiti and put our funds so the people can get water,
light, food, medicine, and all the things they need to get their life back in
the position they lost.
It will be a great concert. If you miss this concert, you will miss one
of the biggest concerts. All of us are here of one meaning, one mind, to raise
these funds so we could really help those people so your money and your time
will be really in need for this concert. It will an off the chain concert. It
will be televised. Just come out and support because if it was Belize, they
would have done the same for us.”
That was a preview of MIK’s new duet with Ernestine Carballo
which was recorded specifically for the Haiti Relief Concert. The concert will
feature a total of six bands, including the Garifuna Collective and Gilharry
Seven. There will also be appearances by media personalities form KREM and Channel
7. It starts at 6:00 tomorrow at the Bliss Center with a minimum contribution
of ten dollars at the door. The phone lines will also be open at that time.
The number to call is 0-800-44-Haiti.
