53 Year old Baldemar Moguel was executed in Orange Walk Town on Thursday night
and the ruthless killing of this well known shop-keeper has truly stunned the
Orange Walk Community. Even more shocking has been the news that one of his
sons is being questioned about what is believed to be a contract killing. Police
have confirmed to 7News that one of Moguel’s sons is in police custody
tonight. Just before news time, Orange Walk Police told us that Moguel’s
son is being questioned.
As we reported, Moguel was in his store – D&J Supermarket on Thursday
night at 7:50 when two men entered the store and shot him five times. He died
on the spot. Robbery doesn’t appear to have been the motive since the
assailants fled without stealing anything.
