When we heard about “a training workshop to review the Draft
Belize Land Subdivision Guidelines” – it sounded about as interesting
as watching grass grow! But maybe not. The event was held on Tuesday and organizers
explained that the information exchange din the room could determine if your
street is wide enough to have parking on the shoulder.
“For example the roads, in the past we used to allow road reserves
of 20 feet, 15 feet, and these have not been adequate. So the new rules are
going to specifically create the provisions for improved road access for subdivisions.”
“A lot of us, especially land consultants should as we have seen
along with numerous amount of surveyors have come together to see what new policies
and legislations have been put in place and also to look at recommendations
by surveyors and us consultants to see how we can best get together in improving
subdivisions and so in this country.”
