A high school science teacher was killed in a fatal traffic accident this afternoon
on the Western Highway. At around 2 pm, Carlisle Grinage was in a Nissan Sentra
along with three other teachers returning to Belmopan from a staff retreat when
they collided into a Ford Explorer at mile 39 on the Western Highway in St.
Mathew’s Village. Burton Brooks was driving his Ford Explorer in the opposite
direction towards Belize City when he apparently lost control of the vehicle
and swerved into the lane of the Nissan Sentra. So far 7News has confirmed that
39 year old Carlisle Grinage was killed. He was a science teacher at the Belmopan
Comprehensive High School. At least one other teacher was critically hurt.
