There was no Lotto drawing last night and there hasn’t been one since
February 20th. That is because as we’ve reported, the license for Tropical
Gaming Company expired on February 24th and so far Tropical Gaming and government
have been unable to agree on the terms of a new license.
The Ministry of Economic Development has however granted Tropical Gaming a
temporary license which will expire at the end of April. But there is no word
yet on Lotto will resume operations. The dispute over the new license is reportedly
because government wants a bigger take. If no license is agreed on – government
will open the lotto contract to tender.
The last Lotto drawing was on February 20th which is when Paula Vasquez won
the $90,000 jackpot.
