It never made the news, but 33 year old Kirk Dougal narrowly escaped death
on Tuesday on Nurse Findley Crescent in Belize City when a man rode up to him,
pointed a gun at his head and opened fire. Dougal reflexively put up his hands
in a defensive position and the gunman shot his middle finger.
Police have arrested Twenty four year old Wayne Rock, a mason of Jane Usher
Boulevard and charged with attempted murder and use of deadly means of harm
when he appeared today in the number 5 Magistrate’s Court. Rock also has
a charge of wounding that is pending. No plea was taken from Rock because the
offences are indictable and bail was also denied. Rock was remanded into custody
until May 17th.
