There is bit of good news to report tonight about 18 year old Luisa Carrillo.
She is the Sacred Heart College student who jumped from the hijacked D&E
Bus on Sunday night. As we reported last night, her skull was fractured in two
places and she was placed on life support at the Healthcare Partners Hospital
to control the swelling on her brain.
The news tonight is that the swelling has gone down just a bit but she remains
on selective life support. Neurosurgeon Dr. Joel Cervantes says the CT Scan
performed this morning shows that there has been little improvement. He however
remains optimistic and has upgraded his prognosis to a 55% chance of survival.
Another scan will be conducted tomorrow and that is when a decision will be
made on whether they should wake her up. Her family does need help with medical
costs and you can contact her brother Eswin at 651-1090. You can also make contributions
into Belize Bank account number 10558.
