There's not much new to report tonight about the container that left the customs department and never turned up at its intended destination in the Corozal Free Zone. Customs still can't say where the contents of the 20-foot container are and they can only speculatively pronounce that it was nothing more than contraband.

Tonight, customs and police are questioning the driver and the customs guard who cleared the container. The guard left the customs shed en route for the Corozal Free Zone early on Monday afternoon in charge of two container trucks. He accompanied one driver and when he got to the zone, he told the customs officer that the other would be arriving shortly. It never did, except thee container turned up the next day at the port yard empty.

Customs cannot say where the contents disappeared to while the driver says he delivered them at the free zone. There is no visual or documentary record of his truck entering the free zone at the time in question.
