A 17 year old was murdered in Belize City last night. 17 year old Anthony Lord - a Hattieville resident - was chopped at the foot of the northern side of the swing bridge. It happened at about 12:30 this morning when someone came up from behind and hacked him twice across the back of his head. His sister Lafaye Lewis - at whose city home he was staying - says the chopping came after some dispute with a taxi man.

"I don't really know because it's just talking that I am hearing with the friends that he was with. They were going to take a taxi, but the taxi didn't want to take them. Something happen between them and the taxi driver, because he started to chase them. My brother didn't want to run, they took his life at the foot of the bridge. Somebody approach him from backwards and gave him two deep chop wounds in his head back. If I had gone with my brother on the island them would have had to killed me and my brother because i wouldn't have run and left him there. I was my only brother. His friends told him to run but he didn't. "
Lords' mother had to be hospitalized on getting the news of her son's death. Police have no suspects at this time.
