In yesterday's newscast we reported about Minister of State Ramon Witz's Driver who allegedly set up a land scam. Well tonight, Omar Woodeye is being charged with five counts of obtaining property by deception, one count of forgery and 1count of uttering upon a forged document. The incident happened on April 13th - Businessman Zhi Yiang Zhang was at the Recondev Office in Belmopan when he was approached by Woodeye who introduced himself as the General Manger of Recondev. Woodeye then offered to sell Zhang a parcel of land located in Belmopan - valued at thirty seven thousand dollars. He then proceeded to show Zhang the parcel of land and also gave him a letter with the heading of Recondev indicating the approval. Zhang then gave Woodeye fifteen thousand dollars towards the land.
Things became suspicious when Woodeye went missing after their transaction and on May 29th Zhang was informed by Peter August, General Manager of Recondev that Woodeye is not a manager of the company - we were told this evening by the Minister of State Ramon Witz that he has fired Woodeye as his driver.
