It's Father's Day on Sunday and music lover and promoter Tony Wright has made it his business to show some love to dad on this day. In connection with the Belize Artists First Association, He's having his annual father's day song competition on Sunday night at the bliss center. He told us more:...

"We think that there are still some good dads around and we need to show them some love and respect. It's not all the time we tell our dad that we love him, we sort of take dad for one of the boys or whatever. We decided that we will do something for dad to show him that we love him so we are doing the "Father Day Song Concert." We had ask the artists to write a song each about their father, its not necessarily have to be their father but just a song about dad. We felt good that artists have responded, we had about 16-18 entries and we select 10 from that. The 10 finalists will perform their song live inside the Bliss Center for Performing Arts on Sunday night. We have a lot of great artists in Belize, Jules, young and old. A lot of time these guys don't get a break to show their talent or show what they can do. We feel good that out of the 10 finalists we have about at least 5-6 young artists from Punta Gorda, Corozal Community College apart from Belize. We have Princess Shirley. King's Park, Lake I, Ladyville, Sand Hill, Santana, Rock Stone Pond, Biscayne where ever you are come to the City Sunday evening enjoy and relax and have a wonderful evening inside the Bliss Center for Performing Arts. Bring your dad."
It starts at 7:30 sharp on Sunday night with an open by the mighty imperial band. Admission is fifteen dollars. First prize is one thousand dollars; second is 500 dollars; third 300. All prize winners get a trophy.
