And there is the rare shooting to report in Benque Viejo tonight. It is a very disturbing case because the victim is an 81 year old woman.
Leonora Tut, a housewife reported that on Sunday afternoon at 2:00, she was walking on Diaz street in Benque Viejo when she felt a burning sensation in her shoulder. Thinking she had been stoned - the octogenarian - who is described to us as "very spritely" -finished walking home.
When she got there, she showed her son the injury and he noted that it was bleeding and that it appeared to be more than a stone. She was taken to the San Ignacio hospital where a x-ray was ordered and it showed a 9 millimeter bullet lodged in her shoulder.
Police also noted that her umbrella had been pierced - which indicates that she was shot from above.
Fortunately the bullet did not rupture any major artery and the senior citizen has been treated and released.
Police have no suspects and would only say that they believe someone was playing with a gun and may have been shot by a stray bullet.
