posted (June 29, 2010)
He didn't steal anything, but Forty six year old Benque Viejo resident Ruben Galdamez, will have six years to think about why he even tried to. He was sentenced today by Chief Magistrate, Margaret McKenzie after he was found guilty of attempted burglary. Mckenzie said she imposed the six year sentence because Galdamez has previous convictions for burglary and theft. The incident occurred around Seven thirty on February 24th, 2010.

Amelia Jau, the owner of Elita's Fast Food, located in farmer's market near to Belcan Bridge, testified that she secured her fast food shop on February 23rd and then left. She said when she returned the following day, she was told by police corporal Jones that he caught Galdamez trying to break into her fast food shop.

Corporal Jones testified that he saw Galdamez stooping down trying to pry open one of the windows of the fast food shop. When Galdamez saw Corporal Jones, he ran, but was pursued and caught at Brads Store, near to the Farmer's Market. For his part, Galdamez denied he committed any offence, and said he was drunk and asleep near to the fast food shop when he was awakened by the police.
