Twenty two year old Shane Edwards and two brothers, 24 year old Brian Yorke and 19 year old Kareem Yorke, were found guilty of burglarizing $9, 204.00 worth of household items from BDF Major Owen Baizer at the conclusion of their trial today in the number three Magistrate's court. Magistrate Kathleen Lewis sentenced Shane Edwards and Brian Yorke to three years. But in the case of Kareem Yorke, she imposed a fine of Two thousand dollars, because of his age and the fact that unlike the others, he had no previous conviction. Kareem Yorke has until October 15th to pay the fine. If he defaults on payment he will serve two years.
It happened on September 9th, 2009 at Baizer's house located at mile twelve on the Northern Highway. The three convicted persons were caught by police around Two P.M. on the day of the incident while they were on a bus at Lord's Bank heading to Belize city. The police found them with all the stolen items.
