It happened this afternoon at around 12:15 - and Monica Bodden has been scrambling to get the details of this very crazy shooting together - here's a part of story:

The shooting happened here on Faber's Road Extension where a gunman pulled up in a car and opened fire on 48 year old Calvin Graham who was riding back to work with a SANTIATION crew.

The gunman shot Graham multiple times with an automatic assault rifle. And while that broad daylight shooting was shocking enough - in seconds the gunmen turned the rifle on an 8 year old boy who was in the yard across the street.

According to family members, the child instinctively shouted gunman and ran - and that's when the gunman turned on him:….

"No, I understand that another guy got shot and I don't know who the person is because they were passing by and innocent people got shot for nothing. I don't understand. I don't think that the police gave good response right now because one of my grandson run to the police station which my next grandson was standing at the lane and run for the policeman. The policemen just come out and look and went back inside. The house is not even 25 year from the police station. The last time it happen to my son there the police was never around. I don't know why they have a sub-station, they should close it down. It's very hard to know that we are out here now and taking this licking and pain and their parents just and their children sit down there and just gun down people why the parents don't come out for those children, or those young men that are doing these things and say this is my son, he is in problems I don't like the problem."

"Well, this afternoon (sis) basically 'Shorty' who was employed with us, one of the workers, one of our homeboy let me put it that way, he was one of our good friend, understand, basically he left the work site to buy food and water for all of us. By the time we got a massage at the work site that 'Shorty' just got shot up through Faber's while on his way coming back with his food, you understand. I am saying (sis) these things really hurt you know, he is not a family member but he is a friend and a worker to me that is right here, it's just like me and you talking right now and the next second you're gone. (Sis) it really hurts, like I said, this crime thing with this murdering, you need to put some kind of stop to it sistren, something has to be done about this, because its innocent people, I could swear for 'Shorty', me Goldberg "Easy Glen," can tell you about 'Shorty' is not a trouble man, if you shout at Shorty too hard at 'Shorty' he might run."

And while that story dealt mostly with 8 year old Marquis Mahler later on we'll have reaction from the family of the deceased 48 year old Calvin Graham.

Eight year old Marquis got through one surgery so far but is still in a critical condition. He was reportedly shot four times.

It is of note that his grandmother Marie Lewis who you saw in that story almost lost her son Cecil on April 26th. Of this year when gunmen opened fire with an M-16 and let off 22 shots as he sat on his verandah also on Faber's Road. He was only shot in the foot and survived....
