Uncle Sam Wants Sewells: First Dwayne, Then Mark, Now Gary
posted (July 12, 2010)
The extradition hearing for thirty three year old Gary Seawell who is wanted in the US for drug trafficking, began today in the #1 Magistrate's Court.

According to US authorities, Gary and his brothers, Mark and Dwayne are alleged to have imported cocaine into the US through Mexico and to have sold marijuana in Texas from December 1994 to August 1997. They are allegedly also responsible for 1 million dollars in drug proceeds sent to Houston, Texas; Lakeland, Florida, and Belize.

The crown counsel tendered into evidence a bundle of documents the US government is relying on for Gary's extradition. Gary's attorney Arthur Saldivar says that he is awaiting the decision of Justice John Muria for Mark Sewell, whose hearing started months ago. Saldivar believes that decision will not only affect Mark, but also Gary. It is expected by July 16th, and will say whether or not the US government is clear to extradite Mark.

Dwayne is currently serving 17 years in the US. In 2007, he pleaded guilty in July to two counts of importing drugs into the United States and a count of money laundering.
