A housewife in Trinidad village in the Orange Walk District who was being harassed by two troublemakers didn't play with them.
Evarista Hamilton a housewife told police that on Saturday evening, 21 year old Silverio Perez and Eufemio Hamilton came into her yard and told her they would steal her shotgun and kill her.
She didn't wait to see if they were serious; the housewife opened fire and hit Perez in the leg, while Hamilton scampered off. Perez who had been wanted for sometime for aggravated assault and other offences was taken to the northern regional hospital where he is under police guard.
