If you listen to word on the streets, the name of Brian Brown is at the center of many conspiracies. But police haven't got anything to stick on him. He was detained on Saturday for investigation into the shooting Theodore Mahler's car. Theodore Mahler is the father of eight year old Marquis Mahler who was shot and killed on Friday. Mahler told police that he was driving past Brown's house on Saturday afternoon when his car was shot. He believed Brown or his affiliates shot his car. Brown was held for 48 hours but apparently investigators could not find any evidence to link him to the shooting. Here at 7news we have seen an anonymous text message to a police officer threatening, quote: "once you all charge any of the brown's brother. You will be the first police to die." We note that the police officer who shared this with us is not an investigator. Police press officer Fitzroy Yearwood told us he was not aware of any threatening texts.
