Shot Up A Home On Racecourse

Another shooting took place over the weekend - this time at a residence on Racecourse Street. It happened early Saturday morning around 5 o'clock. Gerald Young Jr. was at home sleeping with his brother and two cousins when they were awakened by several gunshots zinging through the bedroom windows on the side of their house.

Luckily, no one was injured, but Young was grazed on his arm by one of the bullets. He told us in an off camera interview what he recalls

"Someone came to fire a shot by the window and it graze my hand and I got burn."

Monica Bodden
"So the bullet just graze you?"

Voice of Gerald Young Jr.
"Yes."

Monica Bodden "It did not penetrate through?"

Voice of Gerald Young Jr.
"No."

Monica Bodden
"Now everyone was sleeping at minutes to 5 in the morning when you heard the gunshots. You got up to try......?"

Voice of Gerald Young Jr.
"Move off the bed."

Monica Bodden
"And that is when you got graze. And at that time you were in the room with who?"

Voice of Gerald Young Jr.
"My brother Anthony. 7 shots went that way and then they fired 9 more."

Monica Bodden
"9 shots?"

Voice of Gerald Young Jr.
"Yes."

Monica Bodden
"You have any idea what might have transpired this shooting early morning?"

Voice of Gerald Young Jr.
"I don't know."

Monica Bodden
"It left you terrified? Are you afraid? I mean you are at your house and this is happening."

Voice of Gerald Young Jr.
"Yes. Government has to do something about this."

Police recovered nine 9 millimeter expended shells from the scene.

So far police have no one detained and their investigations continue.
