Victim Of Beatdown In Coma

On Sunday August 15th., at 8:40 in the morning B.E.R.T Ambulance service received a call of a man lying down unconscious on Wilson Street in Belize City.

They transported him to the KHMH emergency ward. His face was swollen and full of lacerations. Three days later he was identified as 48 year old Alvin Andrews, a fisherman of Vernon Street fish market.

Today his family told Seven News that they believe Andrews was probably on his way home from the Belize Ex-service Men's League when he was beaten up by someone and left there to die. Tonight Andrews is in a coma at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital.
