“Tencho” Needs Your Help
posted (August 24, 2010)
36 year old Joseph Panting - better known as Tencho - was shot early Saturday morning -at the corner of Zericote and Ebony streets. The bullet caught Tencho in his right cheek and exited through his left cheek and completely smashed his jaw.

Today he was released from the hospital but that's because there isn't anything else doctors can do for him here in Belize.

Today his family told Seven News that he is desperately in need of medical attention abroad.

Paula Aguilar, Commom-Law-Wife
"The doctor explained that his whole jaw bones are splintered, the bullet went through the tongue and come out through the other side and everything splintered and even the front piece numb, he can't feel anything, it's broken. The doctors say that they cant do anything for him, he has to go abroad in a week or a week and a half. We are trying to raise funds by doing barbeque, asking for funds at the stores, we are trying to see the ministers for help with funds so that we can get him in the US because if he don't get the surgery he will be like that for the rest of his life not talking. He have to eat and drink through syringes. I have to squeeze the syringe with food at the back of his throat and sometimes when he swallows it hurts. He says that he is tired of it."

"So he will need to go out of Belize at least by next week."

Paula Aguilar, Commom-Law-Wife
"Yes ma'am. we just really want to appeal to the public for them to try and help him. Even if it is a small donation we will still accept it and we will be grateful for it."
