Accused Cop Bonilla Gets Off Charges
posted (August 25, 2010)
In November, police constable Sam Bonilla was accused of attempted rape, indecent assault and harm after he went to investigate suspicious activity at a bar in San Ignacio.

The allegation came just weeks after he had been exonerated on another charge of misconduct and paid an out of court settlement of ten thousand dollars by his accuser.

Regardless, Bonilla was brought up on criminal charged and again placed under interdiction. And again, he has been exonerated. A directive from the DPP's office advised that there is no evidence of rape and the aggravated harm and assault charges also fell after that.

With his attorney Simeon Sampson, Bonilla was cleared of all charges. Bonilla says he and his attorney are Contemplating a law suit against the police and reviewing all their options.

He is now expected to be reinstated with full pay.
