A hit and run over the weekend has claimed the life of a teenager. It happened around 12:15 on Saturday morning. 19 year old Guatemalan national Donald Ansensio who was carrying a passenger identified as 39 year old Santos Moreira was riding his bicycle towards Belize City - when just in front of Roses Paper factory - a black pickup truck heading into the city hit them from behind.
Ansensio died on the spot - while the driver kept going.
Today Seven News caught up with his grieving and inconsolable mother who told us what happened. :....

(Spanish translation) "She doesn't know what happen but all she knows that a car was driving at really fast, then next thing she knows is that it hit Donald from behind and that's all she really knows.".
Donald Ansensio received massive head and body injuries and was pronounced dead. His passenger Santos Moreira is stable at the KHMH.
It is notable that 5 months ago - a man was knocked down and killed at that same spot. That one though happened during the daytime...
