We recently saw him dancing on stage at the UDP national convention, but just because he likes to get down, doesn't mean that Boots Martinez is all fun and games.
Minister Anthony Boots Martinez - as area representative for Port Loyola, he surely has one of the poorest divisions in the country. And so many morning when he leaves his home on St. Thomas Street, he has constituents waiting for him on the sidewalk.
But Martinez says that on Saturday one of those male constituents went too far when he ventured into his yard and then pushed the Minister when he was being told to leave.
Martinez confirmed to us that he punched the man, who he says then fell unconscious for a few moments. He said the police came, and after asking for a cigarette the man left.
Martinez made no apologies for how it unfolded and said despite his pleas the man refused to leave his yard and was shouting at him. Martinez says that when he felt the man push him, he had to respond.
As far as we could find out the man has not filed a complaint.
