Ten days ago, a 9 year old student of Belize City accompanied by his mother went to police and reported that he went to a green upper floor house on Dean Street where a man only known to him as "Mister", sodomized him. The man was described as medium built, dark complexion, about 5 feet 6 inches with a bald spot on the top of his head and wore glasses.
Well, police say that man is Forty-one year old Lee Henkis, a laborer who lives on Dean Street. Henkis reportedly turned himself in two days ago and today in court was charged with an unnatural crime and grievous harm.
He appeared in Magistrate's Court number two where Senior Magistrate Sharon Fraser explained to him that she will not take a plea because the offences are indictable. The prosecution objected to bail on the ground the Henkis has a conviction for a similar offence dating back to 2002, for which he was sentenced to eight years in prison. Magistrate Fraser upheld the objection and remanded Henkis into custody until October 20.
The child also reported that his abuser gave him a Samsung cell phone.
