posted (September 2, 2010)
Armed robbers pounced on a butane truck driver as he made the rounds in Belize City yesterday.

Twenty-one year old, Jimmy David Robinson, a Southside Depot Butane Gas Station driver, reported to police that around 4:30 pm yesterday September 1st he was robbed by two men. Robinson who was driving a red Ford Ranger single cab pickup told us that when he was on Gill Street heading towards Caesar Ridge Road he was heard a call for gas. The man who stopped him directed the driver to Ross Penn Road on the corner of Gill Street and Ross Penn Road.

When he drove to Ross Penn Road, the same man approached him on the passenger side, pointed a chrome 9mm gun at him and told him to turn off the engine. A second then opened the passenger door, and snatched his cell phone, while the other man with the gun then ordered Robinson to empty his pockets. Robinson told us he had just happened to have a good amount of cash that he was going to drop off for his brother, but fearing of his life he handed over the one thousand dollars. Police have made no arrests.
