Hilux Hurtles Into Fence

Residents of the Blue Marlin Drive area have been asking about the apparent hush surrounding a sensational accident that happened in their quiet neighborhood on Saturday night. It ended when a late model green Toyota Hilux crashed into the fence at Belize Cable Vision.

Police say that on Saturday night at 15 minutes past seven a mobile patrol in Buttowood Bay saw a green Toyota Hilux driving at a high speeds. The police say they made attempts to signal the driver to stop but the driver continued speeding. When police caught up with the vehicle again - it had collided into fence at the fence at Belize Cable Vision. According to eyewitness reports, the vehicle had its lights off and barreled around the corner off Blue Marlin Drive. The driver then took off, on foot but police who were in pursuit caught him down the road.

Police say that 24 year old Andrew Zabaneh was detained and summoned for driving motor vehicle without due care and attention - and failed to provide urine and blood specimens, failed to produce a driver's license. He was additionally summonsed for reckless driving. Police say the matter is still under investigation…
