It is contagious and spreading rapidly - and so far it seems like there isn't a cure for the Carnival Fever. Here at Ring Road - the energy was high as the revelers of eternity mas band were definitely feelling it.

"This year we have 60 revelers, we try to keep it simple and small, sometimes the hypest is the smallest; so yes."

"So you guys are full to capacity or you still have space for others?"

Tara Williams - Eternity Mas Band
"We have a little of space for others so if you want to join you can come but you know you have to hurry up because a lot of people are coming in."

"Now tell me about those costume? What is the team this year for your carnival band?"

Tara Williams - Eternity Mas Band
"Our theme is agriculture, we are portraying the 3 major industries in Belize. The sugarcane industry, the citrus industry and the banana industry."

"How did you come up with that? why did you come up with that theme this year?"

Tara Williams - Eternity Mas Band
"Well sometimes you want to portray something that is a part of Belize so we decided to do agriculture because that's a big part of our economy and a big economic growth. Sometimes we struggle to realize agriculture is here, we need it sometimes, so we just want to bring it out a little more in carnival and then show it a little more."

There theme for this year is Hot and Sexy and according to Jump Street Posse's Band Leader they will be taking your imagination on a journey it has never been on before.

"We are in Belize right, everything I do is Belizean. You got to picture and fantasize that you are in San Pedro on the beach, relaxing and having a taste of alezaylemon. Chilling and relaxing for night to come because we are going clubbin. While yiu are in the club having your alezay, here comes romeo doing his thing and while romeo is getting you hot and sexy you keep hearing a singing in the background and that's where beyonce comes in right. Belizean beyonce; she will be out there for you carnival people. She will be coming in singing, dancing and just doing her thing going on bad."

Monica Bodden "I want to know who will be dancing in that beyonce costume?"

"For beyonce; we have no other than Carol Perez."

Monica Bodden
"So she will be working that beyonce thing."

Marina Welcome - Jump Street Posse
"Yes and she is very touchy about beyonce, she don't want anybody to bother with beyonce."

"Tell me how long it takes for you guys to put the costumes together?"

Marina Welcome - Jump Street Posse
"I start making costumes from February, because as you know I did junior and senior this year. But I normally do my big costumes first and then I go to the small ones because the small ones are much easier."

"You almost done with your big costumes? what's the status?"

"Ready to rumble."

"You are ready for carnival this Saturday right?"

"Only one costume is left and that will be finish by tomorrow."

"Now tell me how many revelers you guys have for this carnival?"

"We cater for 100 and I can still use some more. If anybody wants to come they can come to Faber's Road and sign up people. The costumes are only $125."

Carnival Road March 2010 is only 8 days away - but from the looks of things - it can't come soon enough for these bands which are rearing to go

The run-up to the carnival culminates tomorrow at the King And Queen competition which starts at 7:00 at the MCC. We'll have coverage of that on Monday..
