Going Equipped For Home Invasion?
posted (September 20, 2010)
On Friday night, police arrested a group of men who they believe were going on a major home invasion move in the King's Park area.

And while that is the back story, the police story is that five men were charged with keeping a firearm and ammunition without a gun license when they appeared today in the #5 Magistrate's court.

They are 28 year old Jefferey Flowers, 30 year old Tylon Tillett, 22 year old Stephen Flowers, 20 year old Charles Young Jr. and 34 year old Robert Gilharry.

Gilharry pleaded guilty to the charges.

But Magistrate Albert Hoare didn't accept the guilty plea because when the facts were read it turned out that the police reported that they saw Jeffrey Flowers, not Gilharry throw the firearm over a zinc fence. As a result, an equivocal plea of not guilty was entered for Gilharry.

Because it is a firearm offence they were remanded into custody until October 20. The incident occurred around 9p.m on Friday, September 17. The police reported that they were on mobile patrol on Baymen Avenue when they saw a heavily tinted car with taxi license plates.

The police said they pursued the car until it reached a dead end street off Calle Del Mar. The police said the driver of the car, Tylon Tillett, got out and approached them when they noticed the front passenger door was slowly opening.

According to the police, Jeffrey Flowers then got out of the car and they saw him throw a black firearm over a zinc fence. When they retrieved the firearm it was a 9mm pistol with 12 rounds of ammunition.

According to reports, the men were equipped with the gun as well as duct tape, and a knife. Jeffrey Flowers is additionally wanted by police for shooting at a pair of officers in March. Information suggests that the crew were going on a home invasion.
