posted (September 28, 2010)
He used to work at the prison but now Freddy Fuller is going full time, as an inmate. The Thirty eight year old was the sports coordinator at Belize Central Prison and police say he tried to smuggle 83.3 grams of cannabis into the jail. He was fined ten thousand dollars today in Magistrate's Court after he pleaded guilty to drug trafficking. Magistrate Albert Hoare gave Fuller until December 23 to pay the fine.

But because Fuller owed a fine of five hundred dollars for a conviction of possession of a pipe and was unable to pay it, he was taken to prison to begin serving time for the five hundred dollars fine. If he defaults on payment of the ten thousand dollars he will serve 3 years. Fuller wanted to plead guilty to the alterative charge of possession but the prosecution did not accept it.

The bust occurred around 7:30pm yesterday. Fuller, who was sleeping at the prison barracks, went to the prison and while in the control room he was searched. The search resulted in the discovery of the cannabis in the right front pocket of his pants. Fuller said the cannabis was for his personal use. Fuller became sports coordinator at the prison while he was serving a prison terms of 5 years and 6 months. He was released from prison some months ago.
