Last night on this newscast you saw Deputy US Assistant Secretary Julissa Reynosso comment on the Central American regional security initiative - and she said that Belize is not being short changed.

In that vein the US embassy ahs announced the award of a grant for the Rule of Law Initiative a two-year program to be implemented in Belize by the American Bar Association. It totals $916,000 US dollars and will focus on law reform and juvenile justice. Work began in July of 2010. The USA has provided 5.6 million to the Government of Belize under the CARSI initiative.
