Armed Robbery Attempt At Chicken Store
posted (October 7, 2010)
And around the same time that happened there was an armed robbery attempt this time in the Buttonwood Bay area. It happened on Park Avenue at the Caribbean Chicken store.

Employee David Torres told us that a man came in and put a gun to a customer's head but got a most unexpected come-uppance, forcing the would be robber to dash out, literally running out of his slippers.

David Torres, employee
"He put the gun on a customer head and they start to struggle there and went outside the shop, the gun fired a shot and the man run. We close the shop and call the police. The gunman didn't take anything."

Jules Vasquez
"So he didn't even rob the attendant, he was trying first with the customer?"

David Torres, employee
"Yeah, he put the gun to the customer first."

Jules Vasquez
"Now it had to be a very brave customer; with a gun to his head and want to fight."

David Torres, employee
"Yeah, he said 'boy' and they start to struggle and they got outside the shop and one bullet escape. Thank God nothing happen."

Police were unable to find the expended casing - which was fired accidentally as the gunman was running off.
