Dara Fundraises For Steven Buckley
posted (October 8, 2010)
Assisting the underprivileged has become a life's work for grassroots philanthropist Joel "Dara" Robinson. Recently he's focused on Steven Buckley who was shot in the head by police in April of this year.

Today "Dara" and Buckley visited us because they need your help and support in their latest initiative- a family fun day on Sunday October 10th. Dara tells us more:

Joel ''Dara'' Robinson, Organizer
"In the morning we have a veteran marathon you know, starting at about 1 o'clock. Immediately after the marathon we have a celebrity football game and then we go into a reggae concert."

Steven Buckley, seeking assistance
"Well I need some x-rays, some cat scan to make me feel better. I'm trying to fix back my hand because I can't move it right now, that's why i really need the help for."

Robert ''Ras Tol" McClaren, Supporter
"Basically it's just to remind the public that there's still people who's in need like Mr. Burgess and Mr. Buckley. The show is to promote so we can make a little fund for those guys to take care of them."

Joel ''Dara'' Robinson, Organizer
"We are not looking for a specific amount of money, like I said; Buckley will be by the gate with a donation box. If it's only 25 cent if people could give, we are just trying to raise fund for both of them we aren't looking for a amount of money, we are just hoping that at the end of the day we are successful for the guys."

The fundraiser, celebrated under the theme "More teaching" is for both Steven Buckley and veteran footballer Ervin Burgess. There will be food and drinks on sale and entrance is five dollars.
