Armed Robberies Net Gunmen Major Cash

Police have made no arrests for a robbery which happened in the city on Sunday night at around nine, 21 year old Keron Moss was walking on Western Avenue in Belize City a black Geo Prizm pulled up beside him. A man wearing a rag over his face came out the vehicle with firearm and ordered him into the car. He was robbed of his cell phone and two hundred and fifty dollars in cash.

It might have gotten worse, but while the car was traveling on M&S Street, Moss managed jump out of the car. He escaped unhurt.

Police are also investigating an armed robbery in Independence village but this one netted major money. On Friday quality Poultry salesman Justo Garcia was having lunch at Sherl's Restaurant in Independence Village when two armed men entered and one of them placed a 38 pistol to the right side of stomach and demanded money. Garcia handed over approximately twelve thousand dollars.

The other man pointed a 9mm pistol at Garcia's sideman and robbed him of his cell phone, seven hundred and ninety five dollars in cash and the key for the company truck. The robbers then took off on separate bicycles. Police later arrested thirty year old Norris Leslie of Belize City and 29 year old Shawn Ortiz of Bonesville area in Independence Village.
