Arrested For Preschool Burglary

On Tuesday we told you about the ruthless burglars that cleaned out Wesley Preschool on Chapel Lane. Well, police have made arrests. Two adults and two minors have been charged with handling goods stolen from the Pre School.

The adults are 21 year old James Young Jr, construction worker of East Canal Street and 21 year old Kenroy Young, a businessman of 56 Regent Street. The minors are two boys, their ages 15 and 16.

James Young Jr was charged with handling stolen goods for a Lasco Fan, a bottle of flash disinfectant and 3 rolls of toilet paper.

Kenroy Young and the minors were charged for a number of items which amounted to one thousand two hundred and fifty seven dollars.

That included a wall fan, body lotion, a microwave oven, lotion spray, bath set, liquid soap and perfume. They all pleaded not guilty when they were arraigned today in the Magistrate's Court.

The prosecution objected to bail and the objection was upheld by the Chief Magistrate, Margaret McKenzie. She remanded the adults to Belize Central Prison and the minors to Youth Hostel. They are to return to court on November 15th. Kenroy Young has a previous charge of handling stolen goods for which trial is pending in the Magistrate's Court. He also has a charge of forgery for which trial is pending in the Supreme Court.
