18 Year Old Mother Was Killed
posted (October 18, 2010)
And while the brutal outlandishness of that killing has dominated the headlines and remains the hottest topic of discussion, an armed assault on a group of prison wardens on Friday night was also incredibly ruthless.

We'll have that shortly…but first to the story of Raylene Dyer. She's the 18 year old mother who we first told you about last week when her family reported her missing.

Well, tonight, their worst fears are confirmed; she is dead and police know this because her killers have confessed to the crime.

The only thing is, police have not found her body. It is a complicated story but at bottom it is just pure tragedy: a young mother killed by hitmen, no less! And all because another woman wanted to steal her baby! It is a level of craziness that is incalculable….her sister explained it to Andrea Polanco this evening:…

Indira Cayetano, Sister
"We didn't have any leads until recently, we understand that 2 guys were pick up concerning the case and today they were charge for the murder of my sister because my sister is dead."

Andrea Polanco
"So you all hearing that she is dead. Has her body been found?"

Indira Cayetano, Sister
"No body has been found but a place where the body was dump after she was killed was shown to the police and shown to us."

Andrea Polanco
"So do you guys have any idea as to why your sister was killed? Did the guys confessed about why they kill her?"

Indira Cayetano, Sister
"No they didn't confess about why they kill her but the know the motive was to steal the baby because remember a baby had to be presented because this girl was telling this guy lies that she was pregnant and at that moment she would have done anything to present that baby. And Raylene was the ideal target, why she target my family and is causing us so much pain and hurt only God knows. They were charge for murder and I hope we could get enough evidence for the case to stand in the court and is being supported with enough evidence."

Andrea Polanco
"So what about the young lady who was last seen with your sister?"

Indira Cayetano, Sister
"The young lady that was last seen with my sister who took my sister baby to Ontario and took her there and didn't even care for the baby; didn't feed the baby all night and had the baby crying all that night Friday; she was only charge for child stealing and to me that was even child endangerment."

Andrea Polanco
"So the guys charge and the young lady who was last seen with your sister, were they acquainted for long or do you guys know if they had any prior problems?"

Indira Cayetano, Sister
"I understand; I have heard this from the young lady personally that she only knew my sister since September and now October my sister is dead. What kind of person is that? And the guys involve; I understand that they say they never knew the young lady; a beautiful young lady they didn't know her from anywhere. They were given an instruction and they took care of what they were told to do."

The only evidence unearthed so far shows that Raylene Dyer was killed in Roaring Creek Village at a slaughter house where investigators found a single rosary that she was wearing. There was also little evidence of blood and a path that showed where her body was dragged leading to the river where her body was dumped. Divers are still searching for her body in the Roaring Creek river.

Here now are the court details and the images of the persons accused of orchestrating her execution as they were arraigned in court number one today.

They are 21 year old Darren Banner, a construction worker of Roaring Creek; 20 year old Jason Anderson, a construction worker also of Roaring Creek; and 24 year old Brandon Budran, a U.B student residing in Belmopan.

They were remanded into custody until November 18 when they are to appear in Belmopan Magistrate's Court. A fourth person, 19 year old UB student Araceli Cahueque of Belmopan was charged with child stealing.

The prosecution objected to bail on the grounds that the investigation is still ongoing and the charge is closely linked to the murder of the child's mother.

Chief Magistrate Margaret McKenzie upheld the objection and remanded Cahueque into custody until November 26. In connection with the murder it is alleged that Raylene and her 3 month old daughter Ravaan Dyer were abducted on October 8 and Raylene was murdered.

Her daughter was found in Ontario village. Members of Raylene's Family say Araceli took Raylene and her daughter to Roaring Creek and they were abducted by 3 men who forced them into a vehicle.

Raylene's family hasn't found her body.
