Last night we reported that police had arrested a second man for the Richard and Maria Stuart double murder. Well today, he was taken to court. He is 35 year old Eli Lopez Avila, a Honduran National from St. Matthews Village with no immigration status in Belize - meaning, he's an illegal alien.
Avila seemed ready to cry when he was arraigned on two counts of murder today in the number 6 magistrate's court.
Magistrate Dorothy Flowers explained to him through an interpreter that she will not take a plea and that no bail can be offered.
He was remanded until November 23rd. He joins Milton Maza - also a resident of St. Matthew's who was charged two days ago. Maza was a former employee of the Stuarts.
The Stuart's were stabbed to death inside their home on Sunday October 17th…
