Espejo Doing His Part
posted (October 26, 2010)
Earlier we showed you the container of rations that came into city hall - courtesy our neighbors to the north. And while the city council will distribute those, one councilor got an early start yesterday with his own distribution of supplies.

Roger Espejo donated over 200 kits of food rations and over a thousand bags of water in his constituency - which is Caribbean Shores - not the neediest of places in the storm matrix - but needy nonetheless

Roger Espejo, City Councillor
"We are doing our best here to help people with food supplies, purified water; 2 of the main things that people need on a daily basis. We are carrying out this initiative today and hopefully we could do it tomorrow or the day after or as long as we could procure supplies for people that's what we are doing; helping people, no rules, no politics just helping people. we are working the areas close to home and close to where I live and eventually we want to move out and help other areas as best as we could, but presently we are working in this area - the Wilson Street area and that's where we are right now."

And as we close tonight, we know that there are many Belize City residents - many of them our extended family of faithful viewers who are out of door, out of roof, and walls tonight, our thoughts are with them - and we hope yours are too,,,,

We'll have more of their stories tomorrow and hope those stories will be about relief coming to them as abundantly as the hurricane inundated them..
