Two persons, 21 year old Eugene Neal and a 17 year old minor, who the police allege they caught attempting to break open an ATM machine, were charged with damage to property when they appeared today in the #8 Magistrate's Court. They pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Magistrate Dorothy Flowers offered each of them a bail of $4,000 and adjourned their case until December 1. The incident occurred on Monday night, at the Belize Bank ATM Machine located at Caye Caulker Water Taxi Terminal on North Front Street.

The police reported that they were on mobile patrol on North Front Street when they saw two persons trying to break into the ATM machine.

They said both persons ran and tried to escape by jumping into the river but they were fished out by police who were on both sides of the river.

The value of the ATM machine was estimated at $15,000. Nothing was stolen.
