Last week we told you about the controversial decision of the Director Of Public Prosecutions to find that Sergeant Paulino Reyes acted in self defense when he shot corporal Gavin Sanchez's 9 times.
The Belizeans for justice group today issued a release saying it is gravely disturbed by this decision because, quote
"self defense is something that a jury of Sergeant Reyes's peers should decide. It cannot be the decision of a director of public prosecutions, locked up in her air conditioned office reading a case file.."
The association calls on the ombudsman to intervene by requesting a copy of the case file and reviewing the decision of the DPP…
