16 Year Old Shot By Police Charged
posted (October 28, 2010)
Last night we showed you 16 year old Jaron Grey lying on the ground on Berries street after he had been shot by police. Well today the 16 year old went to family court, while his step-father, 25 year old Leon Yorke went to Magistrate's court - both of them charged with burglary.

We heard the account from Jaron Grey's mother last night who called it a nonsense charge but tonight we have the police account.

According to them, Police responded to a Burglary in progress on Jasmine Street. When they arrived, they saw YORKE and Jaron Grey inside the building who both ran from the police. YORKE got away, while the minor - and we have to quote here "jumped over a fence in a threatening manner as if attempting to pull out something from his pants waist, which caused the Police to pull out his issued 9mm pistol and fire a shot at the minor grazing to his left knee."

That's the official account and the men who pleaded not guilty to the charge, were both offered bail by Chief Magistrate Margaret McKenzie in the amount of Three Thousand dollars each and their case was adjourned until December 29th.
