posted (October 29, 2010)
Thirty seven year old Yolanda Garcia, a hairdresser and business woman originally from Honduras who allegedly harboured a 17 year old female for prostitution, was charged with trafficking in persons when she appeared today in magistrate's Court. Garcia pleaded not guilty to the charge.

She was offered bail of four thousand dollars on the condition that she surrenders all travel documents, that she reports to the Clerk of Court every Tuesday and that she does not interfere with the prosecution witness.

She met bail and she is to return to court on December 29. The allegation is that between June 29 and July 6, Garcia kept the 17 year old female at her residence on Regent Street West for prostitution. Garcia was represented in court by attorney Simeon Sampson.
