And while Dara was going door to door with rations, today we saw a truck taking things in the other direction: giving out small boxes of relief supplies including bottles of extra strong rum to some of the men in the area. We spoke to one resident who spoke out against it:

"I just want to say today that we are thankful for all the thing that the community and the business sector are doing for us here because of this weather that hit us. We look in a situation where they have been giving away liquor. It's very disrespectful that they will give away liquor in a situation like this, we don't need liquor, liquor is a distortion and it brings problems, we think that is disrespect right now at this moment. We look at this liquor that it shouldn't have been here."

"So who bring this liquor and who they gave it out to?"
Area Resident
"Well they are giving out the baggage to people that needs help but in a sense it's like you are telling them at the end of the day drink some liquor and calm yourself, its doesn't match."

"So who gave you this liquor?"
Area Resident
"Well I am assuming it, I don't know exactly who it is but I know the makers of liquors here in Belize is Travellers, so I am assuming that what it is. I am not sure."

"So you get one of the bottles as well?"
Area Resident
"Well I am here standing over my box, I found two bottles of Bravo white rum over proof and I don't even drink. That's like a real disrespect. If my kids see liquor in my box that's a serious influence you know. I don't need that. I need help from the government. I am calling out to the Prime Minister once again that my house have been broken down, everything have been destroyed in my home. I am calling out to the business sector to help me, help the people here in south side so that they can better themselves that they can take care of all the things that they need. Don't bring liquor, bring food, bring a cheque, bring housing materials, that's what we need."
