We all have some level of familiarity with our neighborhood Chinese grocer - but one storeowner went way over the line when he touched one of his customers inappropriately.
58 year old Olive Leslie - the well known proprietor of Olive's Kitchen called police yesterday to tell them that Chinese shopkeeper Li Zhong Ming who allegedly slapped her on the buttocks.
Today 47 year old Ming was charged with aggravated assault of an indecent nature when he appeared today in Magistrate's Court. Ming pleaded not guilty to the charge.
He was released on a bail of three thousand dollars and his case was adjourned until December 16.
The incident occurred around 4:50 yesterday evening. Mrs. Leslie, reported to the police that she went to Tommy Wholesale, located on Central American Boulevard and as she passed the entrance Ming slapped her on her buttocks.
He told us today that she doesn't know how he pleaded not guilty when he called her last night to apologize.
