Tonight two Belizean men, both immigrants to the US, are making news in the U.S. because they have committed separate criminal offences in the States.
The more serious case is in Pearland Texas, where 19 year old Hermilo Vildo Moralez has been charged for the murder of his 18 year old classmate, Josh Wilkerson.
Wilkerson's parents reported him missing last Tuesday, November 16 after they found his abandoned vehicle, the same area where they also found his shoes and backpack in a dumpster. Police became suspicious of Moralez who was found loitering in the area of the abandoned truck and questioned him.
Moralez gave several accounts of what happened before he admitted to beating Wilkerson to death.
He said Wilkerson had offered him a ride and made sexual advances to him. Moralez went on to say that he attacked Josh with a rod-like piece of wood on a patio at his father's residence. He told police that after killing Josh he drove to the field burned and dumped the body after which he abandoned the vehicle.
The following day Moralez was taken in handcuffs to the field where search efforts by police led to the discovery of the partially burnt body with both hands and feet tied.
Local media states that Moralez knew Wilkerson for about five years and that Wilkerson often gave him rides.
In connection with the murder, Moralez was charged with three other offences: failure to identify himself by giving false information, attempting to take a weapon from an officer and tampering with physical evidence.
Local Newspaper, Houston Chronicle reports that since Friday Immigration officials have put a hold on Moralez, however, officials at the Brazoria County Jail couldn't say whether he was indeed in the country illegally because police say that his father is a legal resident of the U.S.
Moralez remains in custody because even though bail was set the Immigration and Customs Enforcement hold doesn't allow him to be released on bail.

In the second far less serious incident in Naples, Florida , 40 year old Cleveland Robert Welch, who has been living in the U.S illegally since 2003, was arrested on Friday November 19 and charged with two counts of defrauding a pawn broker.
The charges came up after authorities say he used fake immigration documents to get loans from a local pawn shop.
Since September of this year, police began investigating two transactions that Welch made at the pawn shop. Welch reportedly provided his resident alien number for a card that was issued since 2005, instead of his driver license number.
Authorities learnt that there was warrant for Welch's removal from the country since 2003 and noted that his document has been outdated since 2003.
