posted (December 2, 2010)
Forty year old Ervin Reneau is accused of one of the most brazen and chilling murders in what has been a record year for gun violence. Today, the former supervisor at the Ministry of Works, who allegedly shot and killed two men in a robbery attempt at Texaco Gas Station, was charged with nine offences when he appeared in the #1 Magistrate's Court. Reneau was charged with two counts of murder, four counts of attempted murder, use of deadly means of harm, kept forearm without a gun license and harm. Chief Magistrate Margaret McKenzie denied him bail because of the nature of the offences. She remanded him into custody until February 4, 2011. At 6:35 on Tuesday night, it is alleged that Reneau shot and killed 42 year old Edgar Ayala, a security guard at the gas station and 39 year old David Longsworth who was a pumping gas while his family waited in the pickup. It is also alleged that Reneau attempted to murder Longsworth's wife, Ursula Longsworth and caused harm to her. Reneau was also charged with attempted murder of Esram Brackett, William Henry and Antonia Vellos. The police reported that when they detained Reneau in Roaring Creek yesterday he had an unlicensed 9 millimeter pistol. He has reportedly given police a caution statement confessing to the crime.
